In April Khaled was instructed to represent a pharmacist, S, in a six-day hearing. S was accused of various drug and record keeping errors and unprofessional behaviour.
Three years after the referral, on day one of the hearing, Khaled raised a number of legal and technical arguments in relation to the evidence and the Council’s preparation of its case. The case was adjourned and re-listed for a 10-day hearing in October.
Following a case conference and Khaled setting out once again the fundamental flaws in the very basis of the Council’s case, in August, the Council confirmed that it would not offer any evidence against the pharmacist on any of the charges. Once confirmed at a preliminary hearing, the case was officially closed with no adverse findings against the pharmacist and without the need to attend a full hearing.
